Slight bumps to top corners, minor rubs, minimal shelf wear and a few marks to boards, no other visible faults. GD+.* Jacket condition: No dust wrapper. ND * Contents condition: PRIVATE COPY NOT EX-LIBRARY. Owner's name and daye (1948) to ffep. Clean, crisp, tight and bright with only light reading wear, no marks to text, slight marks to fore-edges, otherwise no visible faults. VG.* Illustrations: 44 plates in colour & monochrome, reproductions in a block at the rear. * Pages: 26 pp. text. xliv pp. bibliography, illustrations and blank pages at rear.* Description: Painting in the modern sense came late in the history of Britain. There was no truly national school before the 18th. Centiury.
