Newcastle Upon Tyne: Published for the author by Charles Empson (v.1) and Currie and Bowman (v.2). Hardcover. Leather spines faded out and rubbed through at the tips, all extremeties well worn with corners through to the boards, scuffing to marbled boards, hinges cracking on both volumes, minor foxing to the interior with only a few plates affected. Still a handsome set to behold. (1831-1838) 2 vols., 1/2 green leather with gilt decoration over marbled boards, all edges gilt, 169 coloured plates. Contains the book plates of Dixon Dixson Esq. (the original subscriber to the work) along with that of ornithologist John Eliot Thayer. Also has name stamp of Prof. Richard F. Johnston.
