A copy of this illustrated work of ornithology with a focus on British birds and their habitats, by Rev C. A. Johns. In the publisher's original gilt cloth. Illustrated with 190 engravings on wood draw by Joseph Wolf and engraved by Josiah Wood Whymper. Collated complete. The work of ornithology was written by British botanist and author Charles Alexander Johns and provides a comprehensive guide to British birds and their natural habitats including owls, Flacons, Blackbirds and Magpies. In the publisher's original cloth, re-backed with back strip laid down. Externally generally smart with back strip lifting with loss to the head and the tail, minor marks to the boards and slight rubbing and bumping to the extremities of the boards. Slight marks and very small loss to the middle of the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound with lightly age toned pages with the odd spot heavier to the front and rear. Good
