About This Item

New York: D.Appleton and Company, 1904 Good-/No Jacket Red cloth, gilt title and spine. Part of Appletons' Expansion of the Republic Series. With some black-and-white text photographs and one fold-out facsimile map "drawn by the Indian Ochagach." Moderate-to-heavy rubbing to cloth at corners; head and tail of spine cloth torn and frayed (title lettering intact); light 3" horizontal crease to lower portion of rear board; a couple of very faint small spots to front cover; spine lettering. Removal of rear library pockets has resulted in missing endpaper and hinge paper and remnants/chips/inkstamp to inside rear cover; library bookplate affixed to inside front cover (suggest professional repair of endpapers); few closed tears to margins of final advertisement at rear. Library inkstamp to upper margins of title page and first page of text. Few small, light brownstains to margin of first page of text; text otherwise clean, binding intact.
