Mild binding edgewear and touch of rubbing; nonauthorial gift inscription on inner flyleaf; front (brown) flyleaf an expert contemporary replacement (darker than facing tan pastedown); lacks leaf pp. 31-32, provided with expert facsimile on contemporary paper. Tight, nice first edition, second state, of this glorification by the adoring widow -- "With Portrait and Map" as title page notes. "Outline Map of portions of Montana & Dakota" bright and nice.
