Strand Publications, 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. No Edition Remarks. Unpaginated. No dust jacket. Pictorial paper covered boards. Black and white illustrations and colour pop-up illustrations throughout with colour frontispiece. Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Pages and illustrations are lightly tanned throughout. Pencil inscription to rear of frontispiece. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends.

Description:
London: Strand Publications. Good+ with no dust jacket. 1945. Presumed First UK Edition. Hardcover. In the original publisher's pictorial paper covered boards. The cover design is 'The Golden Fleece is Borne Away'. The paper is rubbed and scraped along the edges and at the top and bottom of the spine, a light but 'wiggly' crease line runs down the spine, and the tips of each corner are rubbed through to the board, but the covers are tight and sound and generally pretty good. (see Images). NO Inscriptions or Marks. No date shown in the book, but research gives the date as c. 1945. The 5 lovely full colour Pop-Ups are undamaged apart from tears to a couple of 'tags'. With a full page coloured Frontispiece and colour Title page. The coloured endpapers show 'Atlanda's Race' and 'Stanley Meeting Livingstone'.
