Inscribed on the dedication page, beneath the printed dedication, to Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Donald Justice and his wife: "+ this copy is for Don & Jean Justice, from two old friends- Lew. xmass [sic] '99." The printed dedication reads: "This book is dedicated to JEAN whose idea it was in the first place"; given the context, the dedicatee is likely Turco's wife, Jean. A companion volume to Turco's *The Book of Forms: A Handbook of Poetics*.
