Oxford: University Press , 1843. Hardcover. Near Fine. Small, 3 x 4 ¾ inches. Full leather binding by James Hayday, blind stamped covers and spine, with spine gilt stamp title, and 5 raised bands, and brass cross on the front cover. All edges gilt, still bright with some tarnish. With the edges gilt a few leaves are noticeably distended, but only about 1/32 of an inch. Brass edges plates clamped onto the binding, two functional brass clasps with inscription (M. E. K. to / M. A. R.). Three brown cloth bookmarks, frayed at the edges. On the paste-downs near the edges one can see the boards are made from engraved brass plates. The contents are unmarked, a number of pages have faint circular stains (see last image) o/w clean and bright pages
