Binding remains firm. Pages have light tanning throughout. Previous owner's name and inscription sticker to front endpaper. Mild wear to spine, board edges and corners, with crushing to spine ends. Book has a forward lean. Unclipped jacket has light edge wear with tears and creasing. Light tanning to spine and edges. Small stains, markings and notable soiling all over DJ.

Secker & Warburg, 1962. Hardcover. Good/Good. 1962. First Edition. 320 pages. Pictorial dust jacket, priced 25s, over green cloth with silver gilt lettering. Yellow top edge to textblock. Ian Fleming worked with Delmer and was the godfather of Delmer's son Felix. Upper text block edge dyed yellow. Pages remain bright and clean with minimal tanning and foxing. Some mild cracking to gutters. Binding slightly loose. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Several brown spots to text block edges. Boards have light shelf wear with minor corner bumping and crushing to spine ends. Some mild marks, small stains, surface wear and bleach spotting to surfaces. Silver lettering remains bright and clear. Unclipped jacket has light edge wear with slight creasing. Some tanning to all surfaces. Mild rubbing to rear panel. Slight crease to spine. Several tiny marks to underside.

London: Secker and Warburg, 1962. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. (London: Secker & Warburg, 1962). [Wartime memoir]. First UK Edition. Publisher's green cloth with gilt titles to the spine. Yellow top-edge. A fine copy in a near fine dustwrapper price-clipped to the inside flap and with one tiny dot to the right-hand edge of the front panel. Sefton Delmer and Ian Fleming met in Moscow in the 1930's and worked together in Naval Intelligence during WW2. Delmer was recruited by the Political Warfare Executive (PWE) to organise black propaganda broadcasts to Nazi Germany as part of a psychological warfare campaign. Fleming worked closely with the PWE as liaison officer for Naval Intelligence. After the war, Delmer became Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent at the Daily Express and Fleming joined The Sunday Times as Foreign Manager.
