Stiff paper boards with paste-down cover design featuring title and author detail, and fairy illustrations. Decorated endpapers with prize bookplate pasted on front free endpaper. Sound binding with some minor page separation (as shown) between page 64-65. Tissue guards are not present. Small tear to bottom of page 26. Front cover board shows some age wear and discolouration. Good condition overall.
The Birth of the Opal is comprised of poems and accompanying illustrations of one Miss Daphne Allen (1899-1985), who at age 14, published two collections.
