Hodder & Stoughton, London, 1951. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Good. Illustrator: Stead. includes a list of illustrations. Two toned frontispiece by Leslie Stead -- "Algy". Within the text there are another 7 two toned illustrations by Leslie Stead. Red coloured boards with black illustration of "airman" on the lower right-hand corner of the front panel and black writing on the front panel and spine. Illustrated dust wrapper, again by Leslie Stead, with maroon background and yellow, blue and white writing on the front panel and spine. light foxing into all 3 edges of the text block, foxing to the free end pages, and offset to mean of the front free and Page. The dustjacket is rubbed with a small split of the front fold over creese, chipped at the head of the spine, and shows moisture damage at the top of the rear panel. There is no corollary damage to the book itself. "Detective Air Inspector Biggles and Company on the track of gold nuggets stolen from an Australian mining town.".
