The jacket is in fair minus condition, with rips, tears and tape. The jacket is now protected with a removable Mylar cover. The hardcover book is in good minus condition, free from rips, tears, bends & writing. The book has been hand signed, inscribed & dated by Clyde Beatty on the front free end page in blue ink. There are a few small stains on a couple of pages. The boards are in good minus condition with edge wear, fading and wear on the spine. The binding is tight and square.

Burgundy Boards, embossed giltl lion's head on the front panel, gilt lettering on the spine. 39pgs of black and white photographs in the rear of the book. Although there is light wear to the extremtieis, sticker ghost on the front endpaper, and mild rubbing, this is a very nice copy of this scarce autobiography of the great lion tamer Clyde Beatty. The unclipped pictorial jacket (Beatty staring down a Tiger) has occasional chips and closed tears, but hold nicely in a mylar sleeve. "Clyde Beatty was the famous animal trainer whose act with the lions and tigers was one of the big features of the Ringling Brothers circus. In collaboration with Edward Anthony (co-author of Frank Buck's BRING 'EM BACK ALIVE), he has told the inside story of animal training, all its thrills and all its hard work." . Early edition.
