About This Item
Oxford: Oxford University Press, 1963. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Frontispiece portrait, with twelve plates and four textual illustrations. Oxford: at the Clarendon Press, 1963. First edition. This first full-dress bibliography of Cowper runs to more than five hundred items covering the publication of his writings in verse and prose, with a minute survey of bibliographical material and contemporary criticism, up to the appearance of the last volume of Southey's edition of the Works in 1837. Original blue cloth binding, with gilt stamping. The dust jacket is lightly faded along the spine, with a negligible ink mark to the front panel and just a hint of edgewear. Better than very good.
