Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound hardcover, clean, if toned, minimal rubbing to extremities. Fine frontis portrait of the subject in black-and-white. Blue cloth over boards, sharp and distinct lettering to spine. Light dust-soiling along top edge. Previous owner's inscription inside front flap, ex-libris bookplate opposite (Rev. Harry Escott) over his prior bookplates there. The Bibliography is comprised of early writings by Cowper (or those attributed to him), Hymns, the anti-thelyphthora, the poems, reviews of Cowper, the translations, prose works, works edited or revised by him, collected works, biographies of him, critical notices of Cowper, Cowperiana, works dedicated to him, poetical works attributed to him, and more. Illustrations in the text (mostly faccsimiles of title pages), and 11 black-and-white plates, all in, quite fine. xxiv [4], 2-339 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
