Macmillan, London, 1981. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Good. Illustrator: John S. Goodall. not paginated -- 48 pages. Sepia coloured endpapers and coloured internal decorations have all been done by John S. Goodall. Brown coloured boards with gilt illustration to the front and rear panel  mimicking a gilt tie, and gilt titles to the backstrip. As with the majority of this author's work, the book is pictorial. Rubbing to to the corners and backstrip corners. The book is ever so slightly cocked and franked dust marks can be seen to the top textblock edge. Colour illustrated dustwrapper, again by John S Goodall, with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Minor creasing to the dustwrapper edges. This book was not intended to be for publication, it was, done for the author/artist's wife. It shows, in strictly factual account, of his birth, childhood, education, marriage, travel and eventual inheriting of his parent's home until his volunteering for the army on the cusp of World War II.
