About This Item

1900. FITCH, Clyde. BARBARA FRIETCHIE: THE FREDERICK GIRL. NY: Life Publishing Company, 1900. 8vo., stiff white paper wraps with color portrait of Frietchie on the front cover. First Edition. [BAL 6088]. Signed and dated (1907) by Fitch on the front endpaper. Also inscribed (in a different hand?) on the same page: "To Ed With Love from the Gersons- Christmas 1907." Good (little chipping ends & some cracking to the spine; some edgewear, short tears or few tiny chips to covers; contents clean & tight). With a facsimile signed presentation from actress Julia Marlowe to Fitch on a front portrait page. Scarce to find decent copies of this fragile, paper edition, much less autographed. $75.00.
