8vo HB. pp; vi, 184, iii. Brown endpapers. Good in blind-stamped green cloth, lettered gilt to spine. Bumping and rubbing to extremities. An interesting copy with a publisher's compliment slip from the author mounted to the title page. At the head of the title page is the name 'Harriet Wright'. I did discover that, several years ago, a first edition of 'The Idylls of The King' came up at auction, inscribed by Tennyson to a Harriet Wright - presumably the same woman. Under the first signature is inscribed 'Roland Wright Alston (British painter 1895-1958), from his mother (Presumably Harriet Wright), Sep 9th, 1920'. I've been unable to establish either the identity of Harriet, or the connections between her and Tennyson, but presumably, somewhere, is the relevant information for the right person to ferret out
