Bound in cloth boards with titles present to the spine and blindstamped titles present to the front board. Boards have shelf-wear present to the extremities (boards scuffed and worn). No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. The book that famously declared Asia is one was among the first studies in English to reference Zen as it explored the roots of Japanese beauty. Like the authors The Book of Tea, this volume emphasized the spiritual ideals of Asian, and especially Japanese, art. Kakuzo Okakura (18631913) was an administrator and scholar whose writings helped shape the Wests early views of Japan and Asia. E-106; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 250 pages .
