About This Item
New York: Dover Publications, Inc.. Very Good+. 1978. First Edition Thus. Softcover. [nice clean book, bumping to bottom right corner resulting in slight bending of bottom page corners throughout first half of the book, and a short diagonal crease at bottom right corner of front cover, no other significant wear]. Trade PB (B&W photographs) The first half of the book, more or less, is taken up with "A Survey of Hollywood Cinematography," while the second half presents interviews with and filmographies of Arthur Miller, Hal Mohr, Hal Rosson, Lucien Ballard, and Conrad Hall. This is "a corrected and enlarged edition of the work originally published in 1971 as a Signet Book, under the title 'Behind the Camera: The Cinematographer's Art'." This edition is much preferable to the earlier (mass-market format) book, both for the textual corrections and additions and for the larger format, which shows off the photographs to best advantage. .
