Several small brown speckle spots on title page and front endpaper verso, else contents very good. Half-tone illus. Pictorial dj; slightly edge worn, spine and panel edges lightly toned, else good. The story of a "Bridge Too Far," the Anglo-American assault on the Dutch Rhine River bridges in Sept 1944. The last bridge in Arnhem proved one too many for the ambitious Market-Garden plan. The British First Airborne Division held out for 3 days and nights before retreating across the Rhine, this unit was nearly decimated.. First American Edition. Paper Boards. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
