"Roy Kyle, recounts his life as a young man in New South Wales countryside and then as a soldier in the Gallipoli campaign and then in the Western front in France. This accounting of World War I is all the more powerful as it is seen from the viewpoint of an ordinary soldier. The author started writing his memoirs at the age of 87 and had almost completed them when he died, aged 97, and it was up to his collaborator, Bryce Courtenay, to put them in the form that is within the book. "; 8vo 7" - 9" tall .
