Issued without dust jacket, but with publisher's slipcase, Szarkowski is director emeritus of the Department of Photography at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, this book was issued in conjunction with a centennial exhibit of Adams's work that started in San Francisco in August 2001 with tours planned for Chicago, London, Berlin, Los Angeles, and New York, the book includes 114 tritone plates and 23 duotone text illustrations, laid in loosely within an envelope is a 13X11-inch frameable reproduction print of a photography in the book and exhibition, printed in tritone on heavy stock with a facsimile of Adams's signature and blind-embossed seal of the Ansel Adams Trust, the image is titled Aspens, Dawn, Dolores River Canyon, Colorado, 1937, a prospectus for the book is also laid in loosely, originally published at $150. Fine.
