About This Item

David and Charles. Very Good/Very Good. 1990. Hard Cover. 4to 0715394282 Dust jacket complete. Green cloth boards with bright black titling on spine. No ownership inscription. Numerous colour & b/w illustrations / photographs. 152 pages clean and tight. Anne Rowena's exciting designs are now available to all. Her particular speciality lies in working with the glorious jewel colours of mohair; here are her sixteen favourite designs in this beautiful yarn. Also featured are jumpers in pure wool in different weights, angora, wool/silk mixture and alpaca. Although mainly for women, three designs for men are included. The garments are timeless; the shapes are simple - mainly square with dropped shoulders and simple necklines. Anne Rowena's influences have mainly been geometric shapes, floral displays and fabric designs. The use of colour is supremely important, ranging from the ever-popular brights to the more muted shades which suit almost everyone. The patterns are graded `easy', `needs some experience' and `difficult'. A basic knowledge of simple knitting techniques is assumed; additional tips are contained within a pattern where relevant. The suggested yarns can be substituted for similar ones - tension details are always provided - giving enormous scope for producing your very own `knitted masterpiece' by choosing alternative colours and details. Stunning colour photographs, designer's sketches, dimension diagrams and charts combine to invite you to pick up your needles and complete a jumper you will be proud to wear; that is Anne Rowena's aim. .
