Excellent introduction to the main features of Cretan social history, with a particular emphasis on the period leading up to the Roman conquest. A volume in the Studies in Social History series. From the library of Bruce Bryan, the first Staff Archaeologist at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and a long time curator at the Southwest Museum of the American Indian in Los Angeles, with his bookplate to the front pastedown. Black cloth binding, with gilt titles. The dust jacket is rubbed and a bit edgeworn; otherwise very good.
