BOOK INFO: A catalog of books collected by Daux, offered at the time by Ars Libri, Ltd., of Boston, Mass. 'Professor at the Sorbonne from 1945 to 1950, and Director of the Ecole Francaise d'Athenes from 1950 to 1969, George Daux was one of the most eminent scholars of ancient Greek epigraphy to emerge in the postwar period. A philologist, both by nature and by training, Daux was especially admired for his studies of inscriptions at Delphi, based on decades of archaeological research. He published widely in other fields as well, such as classical art, architecture and topography.' With bibliographical references for 8 select works.
