John and Paul Knapton, 1740. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1740. No edition remarks. 467 pages. No dust jacket. Fully bound in brown leather. Raised bands and gilt to spine. Decorated marbled end-papers. Gilt applied to text-block edges. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout, heavier at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Previous owner's inscription to free end-paper. Binding remains firm. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Staining and large scribble mark to front boards. Spine leather it heavily worn with some splitting and loss. Gilt lettering is darkened. Top edge of text block is dust marked.
