Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1807. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo.. Volume I in the two volume set of the Works of the Rt Revd Joseph Butler, Bishop of Durham. Contemporary calf with the armorial of the Hulme Bequest in gilt on the front and rear boards. The spine is missing, although the leather under binding remains. Wear to edges. Pages are age-tanned but clean with minor browning. Binding is tight, although the rear hinge is beginning to crack. Rear endpaper has a page of ink annotations in copperplate on the verso, and faint pencil annotations on the recto. 1807
