First Edition. 8vo. two volumes (see below for full titles); pp. xv, 318 & xii, 235, portrait frontispiece with tissue guard of Russell in "America to Japan" and patterned end papers in "Japan to America". Both volumes bound in uniform blue cloth with gilt letter and gilt motifs to the front boards. Binding very good with slight wear only, no fading. Contents clean and tight, previous owner's signature to the front free endpaper of America to Japan otherwise unmarked, no foxing. Very good to fine copies. FULL TITLES AS FOLLOWS "America to Japan; a Symposium of Papers by Representative Citizens of the United States on the Relations between Japan and America and on the Common Interests of the Two Countries" AND "Japan to America: A Symposium of Papers By Political Leaders and Representative Citizens of Japan on Conditions in Japan and on the Relations Between Japan and the United States. With Introduction By Lindsay Russell.".
