George, a former student of astronomy at Haverhill issued New England almanacs in various Massachusetts towns between 1776 and 1787. Includes the following maxim: "Books are useful monitors, or dangerous guides: Read to improve your mind, not to kill time." The final leaf includes an ad for books for sale by John Mycall.
