An interesting album of (27) Caribbean albumen prints photographs c. 1890 with 48 board pages. "Thornton (?) J. Perry" written on inside cover, presumably the photographer. Includes some interesting tourist photos with with some unusual subjects including lepers, a fish, (4) exceptional studio portraits of trades people, many scenes with black locals posed at work and in the street. Locales include: Martinique, St. Croix, St. Lucia, Montserrat, Nevis, St. Kitts, Dominica, St. Vincent. Image size ranges from 4" x 5 1/2" to 8 3/4" x 11" Hardcover album with "Photographs" embossed in gold on red album cover. Each photo titled with location and subject on the mount as seen in images. Album is well worn and with the exception of the first two images, the rest is in good condition.
