'translated into English verse from the original French by Mark Anthony Meilan, professor of languages and the mathematicks, and master of the academy in Charles-Square, Hoxton.' printed for the translator and sold by J. Almon in Piccadilly, B. White in Fleet Street and J. Sewell in Cornhill. covers are heavily worn with splitting at the hinges, pieces missing from the spine ends and abrasion at the edges. volume one is missing the front free endpaper. notations on the endpapers and in the margins throughout. occasional spots of soiling throughout. several pages missing pieces of the bottom margin, not affecting text. cords are holding well, no loose pages. text itself is clean and unmarked. despite flaws, a solid, readable set. Size: 8vo. Year: 1776.
