About This Item
Marshall Howard Saville (1867-1985) Curator American Museum of Natural History specialising in Meso-American and South American archaeology. "As my travels in Spanish South America extended over a period of six years, it may be fairly hoped that the knowledge of some of the places here described is not superficial, and professional work often procured adventures which, if ill paid in money, were rich in incident. The photographs have been selected from those taken during my travels, in the hope they may convey to the reader a more vivid perception."
