Full original calf leather with has had cloth-tape applied to the spine of the volumes. Handwritten titles on spine. Front free endpage missing in volume II. All volumes have moderate foxing as is common with books of this period. Overall POOR PLUS condition. Alain-René Lesage (May 8, 1668, Sarzeau -- November 17, 1747, Boulogne), also spelled Le Sage was a French novelist and playwright born at Sarzeau, in the peninsula of Rhuys, between the Morbihan and the sea, Brittany.
