Previous owners' names on end paper. Some cover soil. Backstrip darkened. Private library numbers partially removed from backstrip. No Jacket. Top edge gilt. Based in part on the journals and reports of John Weston Brooke, who, on his second journey (with the author) through western Szechuan and eastern Tibet (1907-1908), was killed by Lolo tribesmen.
