Lord Hankey the dust jacket has been held together with tape, and has tears and slight chipping, library stamps and previous owner's name stamp on the front end pages, and there is at the top of the title page 3 lines written in German "Gespendet von Herrn Erich Kunsel fur den deutschen Club Concordia Stanmore, den 20-2-74". Some foxing to the front edge of the text block, and some pencil bracketing of paragraphs throughout the book. The book has five black-and-white pages of photography. "In the present book speculation has been replaced by a recital of the fact officially disclosed during the past 15 years." – Front fold over blurb 18 Nov 1942 Goulbourn Evening News "GAOL FOR_GERMAN He Refused To' Work Refusing to work and stated to be a Troublemaker, a refugee German Erich Kunsel was sentenced to the maxi- mum penalty; six months gaol with hard labour when he appeared before Mr R. C. Some, P. M., At the Dubbo Police court. Kunsel, a typical German, pleaded Guilty to a charge of failing to obey Orders while engaged as an enemy alien Labourer at the Bromley charcoal kilns."
