About This Item
New York: (American Institute of Graphic Arts), 1939. Hardcover. Fine. Quarter black cloth gilt with decorated blue cloth-covered boards, DW, slender 8vo., (iii), 27, (3) pages. Keepsake No. 58 of the AIGA. With the spine title of "W. H. Kent & the Museum Press", the five addresses are by Daniel Berkeley Updike, Carl Purington Rollins, William Mills Ivins, Jr., Bruce Rogers and Henry Watson Kent. Designed by Rollins and printed at the Printing Office of the Yale University Press. Loosely inserted into this copy are two "RSVP" cards for the March 8, (1938) meeting of the Typophiles, each signed by Rollins and Kent, with their hand-written addresses, and the notice from the AIGA presenting the book. A fine, clean copy with the barest traces of edgewear, in the quite torn, original acetate DW, and in archival mylar.
