Sydney: Shakespeare Head Press, 1948. Hardback small, dustjacket, very good condition (in very good dustjacket), black & white plates, few tiny edge tears jacket (lightly marked), tiny bump top corner cover. 77 pp. This is the first English-language version of "Adam", the greatest surviving medieval (Anglo-Norman) vernacular play (12th-century). The present translation by John W. Doyle has been made from Professor Studer's edition of the unique manuscript in the Tours Municipal Library, London.
