MP3 Audio CD. The author of Polyanna, one of the best regarded books for children of the early 1900s, Eleanor H. Porter (1868 ? 1920) was born in Littleton, New Hampshire, and began her writing career quite late.

Her first fully fledged novel, Cross Currents, was written in 1907, and she went on to write several exceptional works of children?s literature, including the Miss Billy series, The Story of Marco, and of course, Pollyanna and Polyanna Grows Up ? the fun tales of Polyanna Wittier which was a true inspiration and example in optimism for younger generations during and after the mid-1910s.

Across the Years is a collection of uncommon short, largely unrelated stories about elders, their fears as they reach old age and their triumph against all odds in situations where their children and younger relatives feel they are well past their prime.

With titles like The Long Road, The Bridge Across the Years and When Aunt Abby Waked Up, Porter guides us through enchanting and often sad tales that also act to teach us about the respect and love that our elders deserve.
