About This Item
London: Jonathan Cape, 1950. 254 pages. First printing and the true first edition--published 3 days before the U. S. edition and with a much more interesting dust jacket! The book was met with almost universal negative criticism in 1950, though more recent critics suggest that the work is better when viewed as symbolic rather than realistic. The book is clean and tight, with a tiny streak of fading at the bottom of the spine. The clean and bright dust jacket has a touch of edgewear.. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good+/Very Good+. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
