According to Sabin, La Harpe's 'Voyages' is
"a work that has met with greater success than any other of the same kind; the fidelity of the narration, the striking details of adventures, and the lively pictures of manners, etc., it presents, will always give it a peculiar and lasting merit. Contains all the early voyages of America."
