Cincinnati, OH : South-Western Publishing Co., 1930. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine. Hardcover cloth 4to, top-edge bound, 85pp. A Near Fine copy with minor incidental wear, internally unmarked and with unused course progress card laid-in. Cover stamped in gilt: DUFFS IRON CITY COLLEGE. PITTSBURGH, PA. Duff's was the first mercantile college started in the United States, established in Pittsburgh in 1840. Lessenberry was Head of the Department of Commercial Education at the University of Pittsburgh, just up the street from Duff's. The book contains advanced coursework in typewriting, focusing on practical applications in secretarial work and business correspondence. Nice illustrations of typewriters, hand posture, and various graphic elements throughout. Excellent condition with a neat association.
