"We the Subscribed Selectmen of the Town of Boston do approve of the following persons as Inn holders & Retailers in the said Town & we do hereby recommend them to the best of our knowledge as persons of sober Life & Conversation suitably qualified & provided for the exercise of such an employment & firmly attached to the Constitution and Laws of this Commonwealth."
