London: Waterlow & Sons Ltd , 1908. Folding map, 66.5 x 106 cms, printed in colours, laid on linen as issued, trivial marginal spotting and minor wear, folding into cloth-backed pictorial covers, some wear to spine and extremities, and with an ink stain to spine. The District Railway was one of the earliest underground lines: the stretch of track from South Kensington to Westminster was opened in 1868. The District company’s lines are shown in red, all other railways are shown in blue, superimposed on a detailed street plan of London extending to Ealing in the west; shows site of the Franco-British Exhibition of 1908.
