Victor Gollancz, London, 1956. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Fair. All foreword by author, acknowledgements. Red coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Plaintext dustwrapper with purple and black coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. The title says it all. Softening of the back strip edges with a little rubbing of the book corners. Light tanning of the text block edges and pages. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and lower back strip edges. Creasing of the dustwrapper edges with a 5 inch tear to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel along with a small piece missing. Creasing of the front panel. Sunning of the back strip along with a little foxing and there is sunning to the rear panel. Sunning to the back strip. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [18], 19 - 377, [1] pages,.
