Fine early binding of full tan calf. Both boards with blind stamped decorative design within a gilt ruled line border. Spine with decorative gilt bands, the compartments blind decorated and lettered in gilt. Board edges with gilt decorative roll design. Marbled endpapers. Gilt inner dentelles. All edges gilt. Some rubbing and minor bumping to the corners but overall a very good and attractive copy of this charming and unusual little book, a fantasy voyage through the perspective of household objects. The book is undated, but the Bibliotheque Nationale de France catalogue gives the publication date as 1828.

A very small amout of spoting to the fore edge but overall a clean and bright copy. Finely bound in recent full deep red morocco, spine with raised bands, gilt. Single gilt ruled border on boards. Top edge gilt. A light stain to the very top of some pages but overall this is a lovely copy in an attractive leather binding.

New York: Random House, 1964 First edition, stated first printing. Boldly signed by Neil Simon directly on the second front-free endpage. Faint toning to endpapers and a shallow bruise to upper front corner, else book in fine condition; dust jacket with a shallow crimp along upper front cover, light wear to extremities, a tiny tear/crease to upper back cover, light tanning to spine, and mild foxing, primarily to back cover, else fine. A sharp copy.

Opened on Broadway (October 23,1963) at the Biltmore Theatre and closed on June 25, 1967, after 1,530 performances, Simon's longest-running hit, starring Robert Redford, Elizabeth Ashley, Mildred Natwick, and Kurt Kaszna, director Mike Nichols. The 1967 film version replaced Elizabeth Ashley with Jane Fonda.
