About This Item

Contents appear as unopened, unread & unblemished with fine red and black cloth covered boards. DJ displays minor surface/edge wear, as shown, with reinforced chipping at head/heel of spine.

Johnson describes his years in the White House---using his own recollections and documents and freely and frankly telling us all exactly what he did and why he did it. Lyndon Johnson was the fourth man to assume the office of Presidency after the assassination of a president, joining company with those following the assassinations of Lincoln, Garfield and McKinley. In The Vantage Point Johnson memorably recalls those terrible minutes in the Dallas motorcade when Secret Service Agent Youngblood "pushed me to the floor and sat on my right shoulder to keep me down and protect me... I was still not clear about what was happening."
