First UK Edition, First Printing. 300 pp. 12 full page B&W plates by Maurice Greiffenhagen including the frontis which still has tissue guard present. No reprint statement to the copyright page. Original illustrated red cloth with titles in gilt on spine and black decoration on cover, uncut edges, clean pages, Signed letter on headed paper from Jacobs to a correspondent laid in loosely, the book itself is not signed. A collection of 12 stories including the first printing of the classic horror tale "The Monkeys Paw" A clean tight copy with some light rubbing, small owners bookplate to front endpage. .
