Toronto: McClelland and Stewart Limited, 1969. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo. Burgundy boards, spine gilt lettered. Spine ends bumped and the front board corners bumped and a little wrinkled, with a few little spots of foxing to the top edge, else clean throughout and the binding tight and square. Dust jacket design by Charles Pachter. DJ with creased flap folds and corners, some mild rubbing and scuffing to the jacket surface, with little nicks and chips at the spine foot, with heavier, but still rather shallow creasing and chipping to the head. A good clean copy of the author's first novel, inscribed in brown marker on the title page for Al McGuire, dated 1974. Also, includes a Margaret Atwood postcard, with a long note to Mr. McGuire. Al was a book collector in Toronto known by several dealers.
