Boston: Houghton, Mifflin and Co, 1881. Octavo. 311pp., inscribed by the author to J. Rogers Kees dated 1882, also containing a tipped in manuscript letter from author J.Westby-Gibson to J. Rogers Kees discussing the poet Aldrich. Rees authored several books such as; The pleasures of a book-worm; The brotherhood of Letters; The diversions of a book-worm, etc. Mr. Westby-Gibson authored books on poetry and shorthand and was a huge contributor to the DNB(Dictionary of National Biography.) and he review books as well. Mounted to the front fly leaf are two news articles written by Aldrich, Oliver W. Holmes and Walt Whitman on the subject of the American Tariff Bill which in effect would reduce the duty on printed matter from 25 per cent to fifteen percent which they were against. A good copy bound in brown cloth over beveled boards stamped in gilt, chipping or wear through at spine ends and corners, rear inner hinge just starting, some pencil notes to front endpaper.

INSCRIBED by Trevor Winkfield ("For Peter") on the contributors' page and dated March '92. Issue #32 of The World, the magazine of the Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church-In-the-Bowery. Contributors to this issue include John Ashbery, Eileen Myles, Tony Towle, Barbara Guest, Paul Violi, William Corbett, Michael Palmer, Ann Kim, and many others.
Besides Winkfield's illustrations for the front and back covers, there are also drawings by Rae Berolzheimer, Michael Madore, and Vicki Hudspith (who also has an accompanying poem).
A nice collaboration between artists and poets, one of the hallmarks of the Poetry Project. SCARCE.

Illustrated paper wrappers, 16, 16, 8 pp. Three very scarce self-published poetry chapbooks (there were five altogether) by the soon-to-be editor of the Wormwood Review. "Cockerel's Crop" limited to 50 copies, with copies 1-12 signed; this copy marked "Review copy, 7/10," but not signed; "Two Over Twice Equals Sixteen" limited to 100, with 1-20 signed; this one marked "Author's copy 6/10," but also unsigned; "Conversation Peece*," 100 copies, with 1-20 signed; this copy no. 3 and signed "M. Malone." This latter also has one correction in ink in the poet's hand. Malone produced "Cockerel" in Lincoln, the other two in Albuquerque. Wrappers of all three just a bit sunned, "Cockerel" wrapper creased at one corner and edgeworn, "Twice Over" lightly bumped at corners.
