Horizontal fold, with minor creases and smudges, but very good. An intriguing manuscript in which Shaw embarks on a characteristically discursive consideration of war, politics, economics and matters of civilization, with the tone of possibly having been written in response to a request for views on same: "Pardon the abruptness of the suggestion; but suppose we blow the German fleet out of the water, or under it, and the consequence is that Russia profits by our victory to the extent of carving a Baltic province out of Germany and condemning Sweden to live in the bear's mouth, will that be a result for western civilization to rejoice over? 1827. Book. Very Good. Full-Leather. This is a one of a kind original handwritten working manuscript by the famous French chansonnier, Pierre-Jean de Béranger. These chansons are dated 1827 and were subsequently published in his fourth collection of chansons, the one which precipitated his punishment of nine months imprisonment in La Force Prison. In addition, there is one page which seems to be a crossed out chanson that may not have been published. The manuscript is about 32 pages long (with additional blank pages). The chansons are written in Béranger's hand and contain alterations and edits. It is a real, working manuscript. This is really a museum quality piece that would also be the jewel of any private collection. Text in French. Rebound in flexible red leather boards with gold gilt titles. Probaly Venice, 1825. An exquisite suite of watercolours, including a beautiful series of scenes documenting a Venetian commedia dell'arte troupe, by the Italian artist Francesco Novelli. Francesco Novelli (1767-1836), one of the preeminent artists of his generation, lived in Venice where he was best known for his outstanding book illustration. He enjoyed a long and successful career that culminated in the landmark editions of Don Quixote (1819) and Gil Blas (1820). Novelli is also known for illustrating works such as the Fasti Veneziani (1794), hinting at his abiding interest in the theatre and the performing arts. Alexis Godillot (1816-1893) was a contemporary of Louis Vuitton (1821-1892) and first achieved renown in Paris for his beautiful hand-made luggage. With a workshop situated just a few blocks away from Vuitton's, this catalogue comes from this very early period of Godillot's life before he had revolutionised footwear by differentiating the moulding of the left shoe from the right and become the famous shoemaker who would go on to equip over one hundred thousand French soldiers for The Crimean War. 'Godillot' remains a slang French term for 'boot' to this day. This 250 page part illustrated manuscript is without doubt provably, to the requirements of criminal law ie. beyond reasonable doubt in part at least the "Original Source Manuscript " to the 1st edition of Wisden's Almanack 1864.

This typescript shows two corrections made in levy's hand - adding "in cleveland" at the end of the sub-title and changing the last words of the second stanza - that subsequently appeared in the published editions: See 'The Buddhist Third Class Junkmail Oracle,' edited by Mike Golden, NY: Seven stories Press, 1999, p. 199." Original manuscript and typescript material by the famed, and infamous, Cleveland poet is scarce, with only two pieces appearing at auction in the past 50 years.

Collection of famous Serbian manuscripts, artistically reproduced by Svetislav Strala. The luxurious box contains 18 drawings of miniatures, initials and handwritten text. Strala was a painter of Polish descent, born in 1891. The drawings come in a luxurious leather box resembling medieval bindings, late XXc made by famous bookbinder Aleksandar Ćeklić.Strala came to Serbia in 1917 as an Austrian soldier. In Belgrade, he worked for a time as the manager of the modern art collection and restorer at the National Museum. From 1933 he was a drawing teacher at the gymnasium, and from 1941 he taught watercolor at the Technical Faculty. The original typed manuscript of one of the most transgressive movies of its time. When the film had its initial release in 1975 it was genre-bending (and very definitely also gender-bending), and along with its mix of horror with musical comedy, was wildly off-putting to mainstream audiences. Of course, the road to its ultimate position as a cult classic followed.
This script bears a date of July 18, 1974, on its title page. There then follow three pages of typed notes reflecting numerous script revisions and changes in design choices, all of which had been made in the subsequent two months. There are over thirty changes notes, making this an especially interesting version to study.
